Good Nutrition combined with physical activities is an important part of living a healthy lifestyle. What you eat can help you reach and maintain a healthy body weight, reduce your risk of diseases like heart disease and cancer and promote your overall health.

Chronic diseases, like hypertension and type 2 diabetes, are increasingly seen in younger ages, mostly a result of unhealthy eating habits and increased weight gain. Dietary habits established in childhood often carry into adulthood, so teaching children how to eat healthy at a young age will help them stay healthy throughout their life. Poor and unhealthy nutrition has also contributed to the obesity epidemic in the United States, in which about one-third of U.S. adults (33.8%) are obese and approximately 17% (or 12.5 million) of children and adolescents aged 2—19 years are obese.

Nutrition is the process of obtaining the food necessary for health and growth. Good Nutrition is when the food obtained is taken in the right proportion to help prevent disease and promote health. There are six categories of nutrients that the body needs to acquire from food: protein, carbohydrates, fat, fibers, vitamins and minerals, and water.

When your meals contain the nutrients stated in the above paragraph in moderate proportion, it is called a Balanced Diet and you are going to live long and will lack various diseases. Generally, fruits and vegetables are very good for the health, they contain nutrients and are also cheaper than lots of food that pose threat to our health, but the funny thing is that “some people still dont get enough fruit”, which is very bad.

The link between good nutrition and healthy weight, reduced chronic disease risk, and overall health is too important to be ignored.Taking steps to healthy feeding leads us to getting the nutrients the body needs to stay healthy, active, and strong. As with physical activity, making small changes in your diet can go a long way, and it’s not as difficult as you think.
